About Us

Lionra Leitir Ceanainn was established to promote the Irish language in Letterkenny and further afield. As part of our role as a leading language planning organisation, Lionra Leitir Ceanainn aims to organise events and to provide services for all parts of the community. Lionra Leitir Ceanainn organises family events, social nights and much, much more.

Lionra Leitir Ceanainn has been appointed to develop an Irish language plan for Letterkenny as a Gaeltacht services town. This means that we are currently putting together a plan which will encourage the use of the Irish language in the town and improve the services which are available through Irish in Letterkenny.
