About Us

ERNACT, or European Regions Network for the Application of Communications Technology, was established in 1991 to stimulate cross-border digital transformation cooperation in the Irish North-West cross-border area, primarily by actively engaging with other European regional and local governments through EU territorial, innovation and research programmes.

Core network members are 12 public service organisations such as city and regional authorities or universities that work together to access European Union digitalisation programmes and funding for the benefit of their area, companies and universities.

This unique organisation has been very successful to the extent that it is currently managing approximately €20 million of EU disruptive technology project funding on behalf of its member regions and some 60 other European partners from across Europe from its European office in CoLab on the campus of the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in Letterkenny.
